Once I cooked a hot dog over a dying fire. The glowing embers were hot but dark, I could barely see the silhouette of the dog, no color at all. So it should be no surprise that it got burnt, badly, almost totally black. I brought that dog inside and ate it on a bun by itself. It was the best dog I ever had.

Long story sorry my answer is black stuff.
