Gin thread, poverty edition. Favorite gins under $30? I tried New Amsterdam and it was pretty shit in comparison to beefeater and barely cheaper.
<30? That's easy.

Nigga the only new Amsterdam shit worth drinking is the vodka, and only because its 20 a handle, which is perfect for party's or get together's, because fuck giving people tasty alcohol at a party, just give them whats drinkable.

Yeah, I'm not planning on having it again.
Old Raj Blue is also fucking good. The best gin for Gin & Tonic
Tanqueray No. 10 is probably the best standard London Dry.
Standard Tanqueray is also pretty good.
Why am I the only one I know who doesn't mind Gin & Tonic?
It doesn't even taste like anything and by the time you're in your 4th one you're too drunk to care.

What?
Gordon's honestly isn't too bad, and $12 a handle where I live.
My go to gin for G&T

Yes, it is. I can't think of any gin that tastes worse, apart from the bottom-shelf no-name brands. It's the Bacardi of gins.

its one of the only gin drinks I enjoy. can't go wrong with tanqueray.

Negroni is a god-tier cocktail.

by weaker, do you mean sweeter, or with less alcohol?
a negroni has 2 to 3 oz of alcohol in it depending on which bar makes it. standard i was taught was 1oz gin, .5 campari, .5 dry vermouth. most drinks contain 1.5-3oz on liquor in them so you're not getting "more" from a negroni.

I suppose that was a little vaguely worded. I don't mind having lots of drinks, but I'm pretty sensitive to the taste of alcohol. Usually when I make myself drinks I'm watering down the liquor a bit, with 1:3 hard liquor to non alcoholic mixer or so (I make a bastardized Tom Collins that's 1 part gin, 2 parts lemonade, and 1 part sparkling water). By contrast, hard liquor with no non-alcoholic mixers wouldn't be something I enjoy as much.

Best recipe is a simple 1 part gin, 1 part sweet vermouth and 1 part Campari (although I sometimes adjust the Campari down a little bit, depending on the vermouth).
around $40 but in my opinion, totally worth it. Easily the best sipping gin on the rocks
