Honestly, don't so much get "the burgers" at Whattaburger. Specifically get the patty melt. It's a burger on toast with fried (caramelized) onions and melted cheese. Greasy, but it's probably the best thing they have IMO. The appeal of Whattaburger is that the portions are "Texas sized", if we're being honest. It's good, but it's not the best burgers in the states.

Don't bother with McD's, Burger King, or any of that. It's shit. But if you see a Rally's/ Checkers (it's the same chain, differently named in different regions, I think it's Rally's in Texas, but I'm not sure), try some of their french fries. They make good burgers, but most fast food places that aren't crap-tier make good burgers. They're all pretty comparable. They have excellent seasoned fries, though.

If you're going to be in Texas, though, you gotta have some fried chicken. But don't dick around with chains. Find some independent fried chicken place owned by some locals, it won't cost you any more than fast food. Before I say this, let me remind you that stereotypes exist for a reason: If you see black people in a chicken place, it's probably pretty good. Just go in there and get whatever parts of the chicken you like best. Order some cole slaw or dirty rice with that shit. Get a biscuit with it. Enjoy. This isn't a joke or me being an asshole about blacks, that's coming from someone who lived in that region. I got nothin' against anybody because of a skin tone. I'm just saying black people know the good fucking chicken. Fried chicken is part of their cultural heritage even if people joke about it.

Five Guys and Domino's pizza... I miss those. Also fell in love with a spicy chicken pizza but I dont remember where I bought it. My basic ass country doesn't have any spicy pizzas.

Also it's not really fast food but Texas should have a lot of Mexican restaurants, try street tacos sometime. If you want "Mexican" fast food, there's also Taco Bell.
