Got this for about $1.
Anyone else here/second hand/?

Also, anyone know how to clean this? I tried using a baking soda paste and scrubbing.

Yep, I once got a like-new Le Creuset cast iron skillet for like $5 on a flea market. It must be a pretty old and rare one too, because it isn't enamelled like all the new ones.

What kind of material is that? Rolled/carbon steel? In that case it doesn't need to be cleaned, the soda paste and scrubbing was enough to get any real dirt and nasty stuff off, what is left on the pan seems to be just seasoning. Not pretty, but nothing to worry about. If you really can't bear the sight, try electrolysis with sacrificial anodes, there are vids on youtube that explain this.
my mom swears by going to goodwill for this kind of stuff but the people there creep me out

It's the Mexicans around here. /p/ always says to go look for old cameras at thrift stores, but goddamn the Mexicans are awful

I live where old people with money go to die.
You could have an ebay business just by having a good eye for treasures at our thrift stores here.
You can get off oxidized oils like that with Brillo and whatever magical soap is impregnated within it. It removes it from corningware and pyrex just as beautifully.

You can do better at church thrift stores, habitat for humanity, and such.
If the thrift store has a free pickup service or truck, then your goods are better quality.

fast orange hand cleaner or something similar and you will be fine, nothing that will deteriate the finish though...enamel is a glass like clay finish so you should be careful when using lye based products with it...most citrus cleaners should work good also..

Thanks. I was worried i was going to ruin that sexy green finish. I tried the baking soda again but used a scouring pad and managed to get some off. Ill have to go get some brillo pads

Barkeeper's friend with a magic eraser will take that right off.
I'd buy that for a dollar

When I wanted to get things for Chinese cooking I went to a second-hand store. Most of that stuff probably wasn't even touched before, so it might as well be brand new.

Got this exact pan for free from a family friend, great/10. Can't believe I used to use teflon trash.
I went and got some brillo pads. Its coming along nicely.
