I make chili with a pound of beef, 2 cans tomato sauce, 2 cans of pinto and kidney beans, onions, and spices.
I've got a batch in the fridge right now.
Cabbage rolls, or donairs.
For donairs, here's a seasoning blend for 1lb of ground beef.
Double the amounts for 1kg.
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Knead the hell out of the seasoned meat until it forms a very dense paste. This will help it keep it's shape when cooking.
Form into a loaf, and bake for about an hour and 15 minutes.
Turn the loaf upside down half way through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
Cool before slicing.
I was too lazy to wait for my donair meat to bake, so I fried up the meat as patties that I served in pita bread with my favorite toppings.
