I'm not the guy you're replying to, but sometimes I use grape tomatoes.

Why? Because the normal fresh tomatoes in my area are nearly always shit, while the grape ones are often very good. The shape of the grape ones may not be ideal or traditional, but I'll use them anyway because they taste so much better.
