This, I still have 3 of my wisdom teeth left, and the only reason I needed one removed wasn't due to my own dental hygiene but due to having braces as a child that scraped the side of (and therefore weakened) the side of the wisdom tooth as it "dropped" in.

I went for yogurt, scrambled eggs, soups, some protien shakes (the selection where I live in Wales is shit poor) , mashed potato and blended cooked foods.

Fuck you man, when my wisdom teeth came through I thought well hey it won't do anything now cause they've come through the flesh, 3 weeks later they got infected which swelled up the gums in my entire jawline so badly that I couldn't even open my mouth. I had to rinse that shit using a plastic syringe and disinfection they use for surgery for 2-3 fucking weeks before I was able to fully open it again so they could remove it. That hurt so badly that the actual removal and aftermath felt like a walk in the park.

The jew side is when they send you to a special surgeon for your upper wisdom teeth, a dentist can easily remove them with just some mild anesthetic they use on your gums and it gives less issues afterward. For my upper teeth I could eat spaghetti the same evening. Lower jaw wisdom teeth are a bitch though, prepare to eat some soup with bread and yogurt for a couple days.

My wisdom teeth were buried 180 degrees, like horizontally. All 4 wisdom teeth were laying down in my gums like they were sleeping flat on the ground.

1st day, I could't really sleep well.

Felt like I had a fever but didn't. My cheeks were inflated.

I remember trying Baby Food but Baby Food tasted really horrible so I bought some apple sauce, instead, which was tolerable.

Forgot what I ate the rest of the week though. I may have drank soup through a straw.

It's not really jew to get reffered to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth.

You get referred because dentists usually have to deal with minor mouth complications like they earn most of their money from cleaning teeth rather than pulling out teeth.

Oral surgeons on the other hand have the job of getting complicated teeth and mouth problems all the time, so they logically, should have more experience dealing with stuff like wisdoom teeth than a regular dentist.

I went and had a milkshake right after my procedure. Couldn't feel my mouth and spilled everything down my front while my girlfriend laughed at me.

Don't use a straw for anything. Honestly, I was eating solid (not crunchy) food after a couple days after having all four out at once.

Broth-y soup was good, especially if the stuff in it is very soft. I enjoyed applesauce and yogurt as well.

Honestly though, I didn't have much appetite afterwards so it wasn't a huge issue. And I'm a fatass who hates not eating. Keep a spit cup nearby for your blood-drool, and sleep if you can.

I did it without going under. Not sure if I would recommend. I tried to be brave but my knees and legs were jerking and tears came out of my eyes while the operating was going on.

You can eat solid food just fine if you center the food towards the first molar and canine. If your surgeon sutured the gums correctly, you shouldn't worry about any effects from eating solid food, other than a bit of pain for a day or two.

Also, don't fuck with the suture with your tongue - it will rupture and a whole bunch of filling mixed with congealed blood will come out. It's not a big deal, but it tastes and looks disgusting when you spit it out.

Most importantly, get the procedure done by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon if you can to minimize the risk of damaging a facial nerve. These guys do a 4-6 year residency after dental school, so your local dentist is practically a caveman with toothpicks compared to them. Pay extra for general anaesthesia if you want to have a good time and have the medical staff play with your balls while you're knocked out.

You don't want to fuck around with cranial nerves, as they are very slow to heal and you will probably never get function back 100%. I still have Frey's syndrome from a parotidectomy seven years ago.

I had nothing but kefir and water for the first three days, then just avoided anything dry and hard for a week or two. I recommend kefir, if they dose you up on antibiotics as hard as they hit me your probably going to want some probiotics so your gut bacteria isn't completely devastated. And kefir is pretty good for that, and tasty if you like yogurt, as long as you get a flavored one. Plain kefir is awful.

They are very healthy to eat after you have been taking antibiotics because they will replenish the healthy bacteria in your gut that was inadvertently killed off while you were taking the antibiotics.
