His "friend" is a piece of shit. Telling him to find another place is exactly what he deserves and not an overreaction. This wasn't some accidental miscommunication. In the roomate's defence, he didn't say "fuck you" directly to his face and start cooking the steak while he was still home. There are plenty of people that could live with him and give him some minimal amount of respect.
