Bought a bottle and tried it for the first time the other day. It's literally just garlic infused tomato ketchup. It doesn't even taste that nice. How can you love this shit yet sleep on god tier hot sauces like Encona hot pepper sauce?
>>
Americans are fat and have bad taste.
>>
>>9161626
Because people have different tastes. Are you really too stupid to comprehend something so basic?
>>
>>9161626
kys yourself faggot, no one asked you.
>>
I haven't had the hot encona since before I really get into spicy shit and I thought it was too hot. May have to go back and try it again.

Their thai sweet is amazing on chicken goujons tho

>>9161641
He asked a legit question though, the stuff sucks ass
>>
>>9161626
As far as I remember there aren't any tomatoes in it.

But yeah, its basically garlicky pepper ketchup.

Its relatively easier to find than specialty hot sauces.
>>
>>9161666
I thought specialty sauces were fucking everywhere in America
There's two places in my city's indoor market alone in england, one that does UK produce and the other American imports, then there's the absolute slew of places to buy sauces in Bristol.
>>
>>9161672
I haven't really seen a good selection of specialty sauces in supermarkets though, while you'll find sriracha.

You'll also find sriracha in most asian restaurants, so the barrier to entry is much lower.

>supermarkets

You mean the homogenised trash shops? Hmmmmmmmmmm, my neurons r tingle
>>

>Le ebin "white people don't like spices haha" maymay

Reminder that KFC hot wings and Taco Bell aren't spicy.
>>
>>9161626

Sriracha isn't what it used to be. Once it began to get popular in the States, they changed the flavor to cater to the American pallet; more sugar and less spice. Fifteen years ago the shit was amazing. Like you said, it's little more than ketchup now.
>>
>>9161729
I find that's the case with a lot of "hot sauces." More sweet and a bit peppery than anything else.
>>
>>9161626
Welcome to 2014 bro the meme hot sauce has been Frank's for a minute.
>>
>>9161626
There's is no tomato in sriracha, retard.
>>
>>9161626
Anyone recommend any sauces that go well with rice/soy sauce besides sriracha?
>>
>>9161780
I made wings with Frank's red hot a few days ago. Shit was tepid at best
>>
>>9161626
That's urbanite hipster trash.
>>
>>9161626
The machine! It worked! I've traveled back in time...back to the year 2014!

Speaking about hot sauces.
How common is sambal in the states?
>>
>>9163335
It's not common at all and it's too spicy for most Americans

That's too bad.
Is the amount of hot spice really that low there?
I remember when a buddy from thailand gave me homemade sambal, that really got me into hot food.
Might wanna take a jar of good stuff then when I visit.
Thanks buddy.
>>
>>9163356
You can still get sambal, chilis, whatever in Asian markets which are in any city with over 200k people. As far as finding spicy food at restaurants you'll have to work a bit harder
>>
>>9163382
Oh that's a relief.
I can go without it, but I'd rather not.
>>
>>9163347

they sell it at safeway

Minority Americans don't really into spice.
It's not 'safe space' enough.
