What's the least messy way to cook bacon?

Probably the oven, on cookie sheets.

I add mine to a cold pan and allow it to cook using a medium-low heat in its own fat, and take it out when there's a little bit of color on each side. As the pan heats up, the fat renders, but it's not really messy, and gives me bacon that's cooked, but still soft, and not too crispy.

This. I put mine on a wire rack, though, to make it more crispy, and save the rendered fat from the bottom. Easy peasy lemon squeezy
