I thawed a chicken breast in the fridge last Saturday. Would it still be safe to eat?

General rule is 1-2 days for ground meats, 3-5 days for whole cuts. It might be okay, you can usually tell by smelling it. Spoiled meat is immediately noticeable and off-putting but fresher meat can almost smell appetizing. Might be a good idea to just toss it if you're not sure though, unless you really need the food.

Thanks! I'll smell it and see!

don't get your nose too close or you'll inhale the bacteria directly into your brain

That could actually happen with bread mold (if you have a compromised immune system)

If you cook it to proper temp for long enough it will be safe. Might taste like shit if it's started to go bad but as long as you kill the bacteria you're not going to die.

cooking doesn't kill the toxins that have already been produced by the bacteria faggot

Move over, I'm taking over as OP
