Growing up, my family always had vegatable oil in and margarine as our main fats.
Shits gross.
As an adult my main fats have been lard and butter. But i recently started looking into healthier options. I ended getting a bottle of 80% sunflower oil and 20% avacato oil for a pretty decent price. I have only used it twice so far but i like it.
So i think im covered as far as high smoke point oil (ill prolly spring for the pure avacado oil when i can) but i need a new flavor oil to replace butter. I dont like the taste of olive oil. Any recomendations?
Also fat/oil general.

Just get straight-up lard.

The fats in whole plant foods. Nuts, seeds, etc.

I like using coconut oil in my white rice. Their both nicely fragrant in a way that compliments one another.
There is no healthy extracted fat, only less harmful. Olive is pretty good. So is canola due it's better ratio of omega-3 to 6.(extracted with hexane, yummy)

Why not coconut milk, which has flavor and nutrients?

Yeah, healthier not healthy is what i was going for. Like i said i dont care for olive oil and i was looking for a healthier alternative fat for butter in terms of flavor.
I have infected and impacted wisdom teeth, so ive had to cut out everything I love to eat from my diet. I can't have butter, I can't eat beef/bacon, can't eat sugar it aggravates it, I literally live on cheap noodles, bread and processed cheese, or anything with rice/soy beans/veggies.
Shits fucking hard I love food. I cannot wait until 4 fucking days from now I'll have them out forever.

>Why not coconut milk, which has flavor and nutrients?
I'm using the coconut oil in place of butter, not to add a strong flavor or even a lot of nutrients. Just something to give it a little extra taste and some grease. This way the leftover rice stays versatile if I want to use it in various dishes. If I were to use coconut milk, I'd restrict that rice to curries and Caribbean dishes.
Plus I have a jar of coconut oil someone gave me a few months ago and I've found no other use for it.

>its 90% sat fat, its good on your skin, not in your body
It's oil. I don't care if it's healthy or not, I only want to use a little of it. Like how I do with butter.
