Why does the flaky "quick" variety even exist? Old fashioned, with its bigger cuts of oats, has a better texture when eating it and old fashioned is better in recipes.
I don't think quick even cooks any faster. I pour hot water over old fashioned oatmeal and within a minute it's ready to eat just the same.

I don't like "chewy" oats.
>grow up with instant flavored oats
>think this is the correct texture and taste
>can't into other types of oats as a result
Also why savory oats are so often overlooked as an actual option

you're kidding, right? I cook mine for 5 minutes, and let it sit and cool off for 10 minutes.

I like the fancy imported oats.
