jerky makers, those of you with a dehydrater, I has a question, I got some pretty thin meat from the food bank and happen to have a dehydrator, so I'm trying my hand at jerky. my question is that I'm debating between using the low setting or using fan only to replicate the box fan method. which yields better results, keeping in mind that I do not like my jerky chewy like jack links
I'm not really an expert but I've made jerky quite a lot. I'm certain you need a small amount of heat ~120 degrees to get good results.
Although I've seen Alton Brown's recipe just use a window fan and furnace filters and it came out perfect.

Food from the food bank is for the poor to live off of. Not for assholes to make jerky.

jerky is food too bruh, and it's a much better use than anything else I can think of. it's super thin sliced stuff, the package said for milenasa or something like that
