I don't know much about them other than the one time I ran groceries for my Grandparents while in West Palm Beach. The sandwich meme doesn't make sense to me because "crusty" bread doesn't exist in a state so humid and salty the air strips paint off cars. Their other shit was average-tier.

Only went there when I lived in Georgia as a kid. Their peanut butter cookies were baller and the store smelled nice.

Here's whats going on with Publix. About ten years ago whole foods came on the seen offering healthy alternatives for what your average grocery store could offer. Now, Publix and most other grocery stores carry the same shit as whole foods so fuck them.

IIRC (my pot dealer was a manager there) Their screening/interview is noticeably better so even if you get get black employees they aren't the obnoxious ones. They actually have incentives for the employees to provide good service. Stock options/quarterly bonuses etc. Having been in a college town I've actually noticed that a lot of the people who graduate actually stay with Publix. Not sure if that's because it's a nice place to work or because of dismal prospects. On the other hand, some people say it's slightly "cultish"

They have good sandwiches and they don't hassle you if you try to return anything. But the Publix near me regularly sells spoiled meat "on sale" and their produce isn't always good especially for what it costs. I don't know if every Publix is like that but whenever I bought Publix brand chicken it smelled off, and I bought a steak that was on sale which tasted sour after being cooked.

It always looked okay. I could tell the chicken was off just by smell but the steak smelled okay before cooking. Never had a problem with their pork or name brand chicken. They might sell more pork so it doesn't sit around long enough to go bad, and the name brand chicken might have more strict guidelines of when they have to throw it away compared to management telling the butchers to repackage old Publix brand meat and put it on sale.

They're pretty much the official church of Florida. I worked there for like 3 days while in college, so that was nice.

Also I love it, and I really think the Publix circlejerk is justified. Idk who tf actually believes their deli is shit, they have a fire ass deli, fresh baked desserts and bread every day, fresh pre-made sandwiches and salads, quality meat, etc. etc. I ate like 4 chicken tender subs last week because sale.

Everything is cheaper and the produce is just as good as what's sold at Publix. Once in a while I'll see the kind of people you're talking about but not that often, and I try not to judge anyway. Some of the cashiers are nice. I was in one of the express lines without the conveyor belts, and when the cashier noticed I was making sure everything was close for her to grab to ring up she thanked me. She said most people didn't care about making her reach for things and ignored her. She had a nice voice.

This is how it is at all Publix stores. And there are none where I live, I only went to one when I was in Orlando last year. My brother was fucking around and pushed a cart across the line to see if it's true and it worked and he then had to drag the thing back to the front if the store.
