What are some sophisticated, tasty, or innovative cocktails I can make with vodka?
Vodka seems to not do much more than play the role of adding tasteless alcohol to drinks. I usually just find myself resorting to Moscow mules or flavored sparkling water mixes.
Usually I just stick to Sobieski and Titos, but the other day I purchased a locally made vodka that I really enjoy the taste of, and it's inspired me to make something decent out of it. Any suggestions?

This isn't sophisticated, but it is tasty if you like fruity cocktails:
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz orange juice
1 oz cranberry juice
simple syrup to taste
2.5 oz vodka
It's meant to be a blended frozen drink, but you could probably do it on the rocks too.

I have, it's very pleasant straight. Drinking liquor straight has never bothered me, but I try to stay away from it nowadays, since I'll constantly absentmindedly sip on whatever I'm drinking while I do whatever activity I'm doing, and I always end up way over doing it when I drink straight.

Very nice actually. Smooth, and not much a bite at all. There's also a distinct, but very faint creamy flavor to it.

Use it to get bitches drunk then, it will work wonders. Vodka isn't good for much other than fruity cocktails. For sophisticated stuff you use other things.

Oddly enough, it's pretty bland and a bit bitter without simple syrup.
Also, one cocktail isn't going to give you diabetes, it's drinking a 20 oz soda on a daily basis that gives you diabeetus.
