No, because cooking is an actual mechanic that requires you to time the button press. You can do it too soon and get a Rare Steak or too late and get a Burnt Meat. Rare and Burnt both provide only half the stamina boost of a Well-done Steak, but the Burnt has a chance of decreasing your stamina instead of increasing it.

If you look up "properly done" or "Correctly done" in a Japanese-to-English dictionary, for example, you get "well done". And that would be correct for general conversation. It's only in the context of food that "Well done" has a different meaning.

The 3 categories were almost certainly raw, correctly done, and burnt. Raw turned to rare and "correctly done" turned to "Well done" in translation.
