I usually make my toast from old bread because it's already dehydrated and I can't really use it for anything else.
Today I used fresh bread and it tasted differently, more tender.
Why?
Also what's the best thing to put on toast?
I'd say unsalted butter or apricot jam
The guy who invented the toaster is an unappreciated genius when you think about it.

That's actually backwards. Stale bread contains more moisture than fresh bread. Google it.
>>why

Hard to pick a favorite toast spread. I like apple butter, strawberry jam, lemon curd, and sometimes even pepper jam.

Disgusting
Olive oil is another good one not mentioned yet.
Peanut Butter + Strawberry Jam + Blueberry Jam
The jam depends on the season and what I have on hand. Thankfully I have easy access to tons of strawberry preserves, but if I can, mixing that with some blueberry preserves or maybe even some blackberry preserves is a great breakfast.

A slight buttering, liverwurst, and then a slice of cheese.
(I prefer provolone)

"What're you doing there Tom?"
"I'm making a machine that'll ever so slightly burn bread into a different consistency."
"That's retarded no one well ever want that."

Just smash an avacardo on it and be done with it
