Canola/vegetable oil. Peanut oil is godly, but too expensive.
>>
>>9065178
all of my tilapia is fried in olive oil
>>
Preferred: peanut
usually it's just vegetable. Canola tastes fishy to me, but others don't perceive it and call me crazy. It must be like the cilantro and soap thing.
>>
I collect the grease from my hair

I collect grease from your hair too, in the middle of the night.

Olive oil is the best for cold dishes and soups.
Vegetable oil is the best for frying.

>>
Those saying peanut oil must be rich

That shit is like twice the cost of every other oil

Only olive oil can compete with that absurd pricing and at least it has uses outside of frying

A couple gallons of peanut oil will last me half a year, maybe $20-30 total? I'll deep fry maybe once every month or so for a big batch of something. Maybe use a couple tablespoons for random stuff when vegetable is getting boring.

Decent investment even though vegetable oil is about 1/4 the cost, really makes a big difference
>>
>>9065418
Reuse your deep-fry oil.
>>
>>9065121
Pure duck fat. It's the only way.

Giving internet to the 3rd world was a mistake.

Whatever is around or whatever is on sale. I've been using grapeseed more because the taste and smell is negligible. Rice oil is terrible for pan frying. Ends up smelling like shit after barely any time cooking.
>>
Peanut. Sometimes Sunflower oil.
>>
>>9065121

Rapeseed, i like the smoke.
>>
High oleic sunflower
>>
>>9065121
evoo
its just so cheap and nourishing
>>
Candle wax.
I dislike glycerides.
>>
>>9065181
Only regular olive oil will catch fire, the extra light olive oils actually have some of the highest smoke points out there. On the list I have it's above everything but ghee, rice bran oil, refinel safflower oil, and avocado oil.
>>
>>9067346
Soybean.
>>
For me, it's gutter oil.
100% organic.
>>
>>9068182
heh, I though this would work and seems like someone has done it.
>>
>>9068182
Also after further research turns out paraffin waxes and oils do cause damage to the liver among other things. After long term use of course, but apparently people have been using mineral oils and oil mixtures for cooking.
>>
>>9067307
My father uses lard every now and again and it smells like death but boy is it flavorful.
