How to get into the culinary industry? I'm working in finance right now and hate it. Should I go back to school for a culinary arts certification? Or just work my way up from dishwasher or something. I'm in North Carolina right now, if anyone knows of anything in the region that might be helpful. I only have $5000 to throw towards schooling.

Enroll in Johnson and Wales' culinary courses, apply for financial aid. That's really the only option available here, our education system sucks.

No but a friend of mine did, he said it was competitive and expensive but if you don't stay on campus and have some government backing you might be able to make it.
