Thousand Island Dressing is Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Relish, and Onion

Russian dressing is Mayonnaise, Ketchup, and Horseradish or alternately Mayonnaise and Cocktail sauce for those who like to short cut things.

About the only thing they have in common is Mayonnaise and Ketchup but the taste is much different.

I've seen Russian dressing recipes with onion and relish, but no horseradish, and I've seen Thousand Island dressing recipes with no onion. The two names are interchangeable.

In fact, let's take a look at the ingredients for the two products picture above. First, the wish-bone thousand island. oil and egg yolk for the mayo, tomato paste and sugar for the ketchup, relish, onion powder, spices, and emulsifiers/preservatives.

and now onto Ken's russian dressing. oil and egg yolks for the mayo, chili sauce instead of ketchup, relish, onions, spices, and emulsifiers/preservatives. oh look, they're the exact same fucking thing. eat my dick.

Most store brand vs. name brand shit. Frozen foods can be the exception sometimes, but usually the shit is just stuff that didn't meet QC or they were testing out a new cheaper way of making something.

literally not true. pepsi is sweeter, while coke is more acidic.
