I think they are fake set pieces just put there to pretend A&W has been around for a long time but really they are all fake like the moon landing. Do any of you even remember seeing an A&W before 1993?
I'm not sure what they gain by this ruse, though.

I don't remember seeing anything before 1993, because that's when I was born.
>>9013974
There used to be an A&W on the way out to the lake, so yeah.

You young scumbag.
There used to be A&Ws all over before Yum! Brands bought it and almost completely destroyed it.

I bet they had photos on the wall didn't they? Photos of the past, right? Some nonspecific bygone era of black and white? A perfectly stereotypical image?
I wonder if anyone will remember a time there weren't photos on the wall.

I don't mind them being all over the place, though. They're better than McDonald's and other fast food joints from my experience.
>>9013974
Yeah I used to always stop at a really old one that still had the drive in thing on my way back from summer camp.

I remember going to one in Chino, CA but I think it closed shortly before I moved out of CA in '97. I also vaguely remember passing by one in Yucapia, CA in the late 80's/early 90's.
I was in the Madison, WI area last summer and passed several A&W's in a 100 mile radius that look like they've been there for at least 30-40 years, if not longer.
I wasn't even aware A&W had a restaurant. I only know about them from the bottles of root beer in the grocery store.
