How do I stop eating food so quickly? I literally finish in a few minutes. I can't stop myself.

Put your fork down after every single bite.

In the far east it's not uncommon to put your utensils down and simply take a break from eating for a minute or two.

Chew each bite 20 times. At first you have to count, but after awhile it becomes second nature.
You're probably just eating tiny portions

No I can eat an entire meal in a few minutes.
Fork in left hand knife in right. Cut off piece of food with knife, set down knife, switch fork to right hand, pick up food and take bite. If anyone says anything about it talk in a victorian brittish accent and say how it prevents us from descending to gluttony

fuck that, nigga, just eat fast. we got shit to do, don't just let your meal get cold!
Just eat with the very tip of your fork so you take smaller bites, and chew your food a lot more. You'll digest the food better too.

Are you worried about being fat due to overeating? I eat quickly as well. When I finish my portion I down a large amount of water to "finish" off the meal. Usually works.

Totally wrong. That's the American way of using a fork and knife. The European way is not switching the fork hand.

The European way of using a knife and fork sucks.

I'm American, right-handed, and I always hold my fork in my right hand and knife in left. It just seems natural to me.

>The European way is not switching the fork hand.
Correct. But this isn't a thread about table manners, it's about eating slowly. And as cringe-worthy as it is, switching hands forces you to slow down.
I usually watch a TV show when I eat and I am to finish my last bite when the credits roll
