I was a terrible barista once. Not in the hipster, know it all sense, just bad at my job and was resentful toward customers. If you came in and ordered a pretentious drink or were on the phone while you ordered I'd find a way to fuck with you. Also once intentionally drugged an older couple with caffeine who were being a pain in the ass. They came in after close to demand decaf lattes because they had a big road trip planned for the next morning, I wanted to make sure they wouldn't get to sleep beforehand. Somehow held that job for almost two years

As someone who lives in Washington, I'm surrounded by an absurd amount of independant coffee stands and it's kind of awesome.

Within a 2 mile radius of me, there's 6 stands, all of them busy on a daily basis. In town 3 miles from me, there's another 5 stands, 1 of them being a bikini barista ran by attractive sluts but all but 1 make shit coffee. About 2.5 miles in the opposite direction of town, there's another bikini stand where they make some of the best coffee, and have the best looking girls there with not-shit personalities. I find it a bit funny, only 1 of the "family friendly" stands around here makes genuinly good coffee, and their baristas remember what you drink, as well as frequently give you extra shit for free, all but 1 of the local bikini stands however make goddamned awesome coffee.
