Why is black tea so cheap now?
Multiple grocery store chains have been offering >50% discount on black tea all this month.

That's not a great deal...I get tea from Giant Tiger for $1.99 and it's a 100 count box...

Congrats, you bought boxed rat shit from China

You gotta be careful about that.
I bought a 100 count box from the dollar store, and legit, they are micro teabags, wherein 2-3 dollar store teabags=one regular teabag.
And then I looked at the grocery store, and there is no standard teabag size so when I go do a price:bag comparison, it is flawed since the bag size is not a constant.
I thought I recognized that advertisement style, but it turns out a whole bunch of supermarkets (possibly just in Canada) use basically the same digital flyer software.
If you don't mind, just to satisfy my curiosity, which chain is that tea from?

Every grocery store I've ever been in has price per unit of weight calculations on the shelf below the item

You can grow your own tea plant. Most, if not all, teas are derived from the leaves of the same plant.

It's all rat shit, wtf do I care...

Processing raw tea leaves into a drinkable product is an elaborate process best left to chinese and indian slave labor.

That's no joke, either.

Enjoy your "discount" dust, pleb
I just drink earl grey occasionally.
As with most active food or substances I don't think it's worth using until it is required to experience normal function. I have a nice cup of tea sometimes for a pick-me-up, or a treat. I don't want to be a caffeine shill. Buy shitty bulk if you want, it's cheaper to drink less.
