Put them aside and boil or steam them later, add some salt for a great snack. Throwing them away is akin to cutting a lemon in half for use in a recipe then just tossing the other half. It's still a perfectly fucking good lemon, use it in some tea or something.

Yes you are anon. I keep vegetable scraps in the freezer to make soup stock and if the stalks are big enough I toss them in there instead of slicing them up with the rest of whatever I am making.
