1) Get chicken. Cut it into strips. Marinade it if you want.
2) standard breading: dip chicken in flour, then egg wash (beaten egg), then breadcrumbs.
3) Deep fry @350F until crisp and cooked through.
Serve with your choice of sauce.

Cornstarch makes a better pre-breading desu

I strongly recommend brining if you're using breasts.

Normally I'd agree with you. But:
1) let's keep things simple here for the newbie. you can introduce new concepts later.
2) it's really hard to fuck up and get dry chicken while deep frying.

Seasoning the flour is counterproductive. Very little of the flavor gets into the chicken whereas it does a great job of flavoring your cooking oil, thereby making it less useful for other dishes.
>breadcrumbs
I was starting with the basics. Obviously OP could use alternate breading ingredients if he/she wishes.

Do you even chickfila?

I always season the flour, I even season the breast and the bread crumbs. And if I skip one of these it's like I didn't season at all. You could brine the breast but who thinks ahead for simple schnitzels?

No point in buttermilk if you don't marinade it in it.

Cut chicken into appropriate sizes. Prepare in a bowl eggs and a little milk, whisk. Prepare in a deepish dish flour, garlic salt, pepper. Dip chicken in egg, then in flour, then in egg, then in flour. Fry in oil 375 degrees until golden brown.

well yeah you'd be marinading the tendies in the buttermilk, why the fuck else would you use it in the making of tendies?
