Is Gordon Ramsay as good as people say /ck/?
>>8941561
nope, he's average at best in Europe. In the US however he's a far above average.
>>8941561
He's worth his stars, but is not flawless.
>ITT: people give opinions on a chef whose food they have never actually tried.
The /tv/ generation is a mistake.
>>8941561
I've never eaten his cooking -poorfag- but as far as I can tell, he's an alright human being.
>>8941561
By all accounts he's a great chef, but he gives people the wrong idea about what being a chef in the real world is really like.

You can actually learn a lot based on watching his TV shows.
If it's a classic French or British dish he knocks it out of the park.
If it's something other than that--especially something with an ethnic theme--it doesn't take a pro to see that he's much much worse.

Cook this (properly, to the letter) one time.
Congrats, you are no longer atheist.

I've picked up a lot of techniques from his YouTube videos. If you can already cook and egg and do some simple stuff, he definitely can help you get to the next level.
It makes me sad that most Americans know him from the American kitchen nightmares and hella kitchen, where he is obviously playing up the more dickish sides of his personality. Those shows are over produced garbage.
