Like my 'lasagnitas'/ I found that the Air Fryer is a finishing move within the cooking process.

Are there any "recommended" brands of air fryers? I was thinking of getting one, just curious what general quality/price range is to be expected.

don't bother with an "air fryer".

Get a convection toaster oven instead. It can do everything the "air fryer" can, and more.

These look fucking awful compared to what my $20 walmart deep fryer can produce.
