I've made this in hamburger helper form and it just tasted like milk to me, what is this supposed to taste like? If it tastes the same there is no point.

Braised beef with mushrooms and onions in a sour cream sauce with black pepper. It's fantastic over noodles. There are many variations because the recipe has spread over literally the entire planet but what I just described is a real nice comfort food.
