How I make jasmin rice at work everyday. This works for other rice but may require a different water to rice ratio. For jasmin its 1 to 1.
>rince rice. I do three washes.
>add in equal amount of water
>put flame on high
>right when the water starts to boil put on simmer
>cover pot
>let it go for about 10-15 minutes (this will depend on how much you are cooking. What you are looking for is all the water has been absorbed by the rice.
>Take of heat and let it sit for 10 minutes covered
>remove lid and mix well
>enjoy rice

having one of these at home
A rice cooker. :^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^)
use a lot of water. lots and lots of water.
wash rice till no starch left
strain and add to pit
add water in 3:2 ratio of water to rice ie 300ml water to 200ml rice etc
season with salt and pepper
add some spices to make rice fragrant, I usually use cardamom pods and star anise
cover pot and bring to boil
when boiling, turn down heat and let it cook for around 15-20 mins
take lid off and remove spices from rice (the should be sitting at the top)
you can let it cook with the lid off for a bit at the end if you want the rice to be a bit drier

Having a stove at work.
Literally who has this?

Wash it until the water runs clear, unless you are making sticky rice or risotto.
Use stock instead of water
