Speaking as an ex-bodybuilder who used to juice: oral hormones simply aren't effective because the liver breaks them down so fast. That's why when we bodybuilders take 'roids it's not standard testosterone (or other hormones), it's special versions which have a very long carbon chain added to it. If you took a bunch of normal testosterone it would affect your body for a few minutes only before the first pass through the liver destroyed it. Instead we take things like tesosterone propinate or decanate. Those added carbon chains make the molecule survive the liver long enough to be effective. But even then you're still taking injections every couple of days--not to mention the injections are in adipose tissue (i.e. fat) so it can slowly release into the body over time.

There are some steroids taken in pill form. Not only are those also modified to survive the liver, but you also have to take a fuckload of them evenly spaced throughout the day. I'm talking several dozen pills in a single day.

The idea that hormone content in a normal food or beverage would have any kind of tangible effect is just plain silly. That first pass metabolism is a bitch.
