says they are the same total weight but its a trade off either way. The 1/4lb doesn't get much bun coverage but it is thicker and juicier. The 2x1/8th gives you a lot better bun coverage but because it is so thin does tend to be drier. You also have to remember toppings are the same either ways so some "styles" lend themselves to certain burgers.
