Bought a few packages of this ground beef at aldi today and when I opened the pack tonight there was a weird like rotted egg smell from the pack. Not like it was bad meat just strange smell that seemed to have gone away after cooking. Is that normal?

Do you often cook with grass fed beef? It does smell different... More earthy.

Yes but I've never bought it in a pack like this. Usually from a store in a test wrapped in standard cellophane. Never had the smell this had upon first Opening

Just eat it. If it goes bad, you can post in the food poisoning thread.

Raw beef always smells like shit.

Beef is pretty shit so naturally it smells as such.
isn't that just nitrogen they inject while vacuum sealing to push out oxygen and slow down decomposition?

Aldi has a lot of good stuff, but their meat is garbage. Avoid Aldi meat.
