Who the fuck goes to a coffee shop for the employees? What sense is there in this? I'm there for my drink and possibly breakfast or something. Who serves me as long as they aren't dirtying the food in some way or are rude shouldn't matter.

The only pet peeve I have in a coffee shop is when the baristas act like they're above the customers. Dude, you make coffee. Just take my order, smile, make the damn coffee and say thank you. That's all you need to do.
There's a shit ton of coffee shops in my neighborhood, and about half of them are like that. The other half is perfectly fine, with friendly baristas and comfy atmosphere.
My other, more personal pet peeve is that my favorite place, which makes the best coffee and has the nicest baristas, is always full of fucking skinny, all-black-wearing, scarf-in-the-summer pseudo hipster trash, who are either sitting on their laptops writing, or sitting and staring around like having fucking eyes makes them bored.
