Half in the fridge, half in the butter dish
My butter is from Finland, the fridge simulates its natural environment
>global warming at an all time high
>record temp highs every summer for the past decade

My house goes through butter so slowly that half would be oxidized before we use it.
We stick most in the freezer and keep only half a stick in a covered dish (at most).

>store extra butter in freezer
>keep butter for breads and such in butter dish on table
No need letting the extra butter go rancid while I'm working away at the one on the table for two weeks.
