Anyone here pick wild leeks? They are all over a bunch of the parks near me. I transplanted a couple of them to my backyard. They seem to be doing okay

The bulbs are tender when young, but get tough and pithy quickly. Also if you planted a "few" in your yard, next year your yard will be wild leeks. Those things spread like wildfire.

I love pork and leek and make a nice sausage roll with them in really tasty except I can't stop burping leeks all afternoon. I usually pan fry them on a gentle heat for 10-20 mins and allow them to cool down before adding to the sausage meat filling and them rolling into the pastry.
Any science tips on why I keep burping leeks from this recipe and not anything else I put leeks in ?

when you grow your own you get giant tender leaves which taste good as well as the stalk/bulbs, pretty easy to do and worth the space in my opinion
