This how I made Corn Nuts. Buy the giant dry white corn from a mexican market. Boil them in some salted water for 10 -15 minutes. Dry them thoroughly. Heat several inches of vegetable oil to 360F. Drop handfuls into the oil not overcrowding and fry until they puff up a bit and turn golden brown. Remove to paper towel and salt them.

You can do it without boiling first, but they are hard as fuck and don't blame me for your dental bell to fix chipped teeth.

It might, but only if the boiling reduced the "pop" aspect. Your next best choice would be dried posole corn but that would only be found at a mexican market too. Try a handful of popcorn by boiling it first and see what happens.
