as an australian who has never, ever touched or tasted one, they look the kind of creation a person with a dual degree in chemical engineering and marketing would come up with to pass off unusable food industry waste as an edible product. That thing is literally the furthest removed from actual food for a living organism that could possibly ever be synthesised- and people willingly purchase and consume it. It is styrofoam slathered in an 'eat me' signal.
