Ok /ck/ i heard on a video that you can create bread from the following simple ingredients:
1. Water
2. Flour
3. Salt
Is it really that simple? I tried researching and it seems like there is a lot more ingredients needed.
Are (((they))) just making it seems more complicated than it actually is?
Will be posting updates on how I go (pic related)
Also anyone know ratios of flour to water and salt?
You need yeast too m8
Go back down to woolies and get some bread yeast. It's like 4 bucks for a little container of it that will last you ages and can be used for a hundred loaves.

Well you need yeast unless you want flatbread. Or communion wafers.
Let us know how it goes.

I cant go back to woolies at the moment. So ive decided to just make flatbread (hoping this works) ive added some chia seeds and olive oil into the mix, this will make it taste better right?

I would add some sugar yeast and oil, bloom the yeast in the sugar and water but yeah that's all you need to create the staff of life
you can make tortillas with what you have but you'll still need oil to fry them

Yeah i think i should have made it flatter, all i got was a potential wepon

Ok so take aways from this experience:
Less salt
Lower oven temp, longer cook time
Need yeast

Mix a bit of baking powder and baking soda into the flour, and cook the dough in a hot oiled skillet. You'll get the yeastless flatbread result you're looking for.
You can technically make bread with just those ingredients if you use wild yeast, but it's way more complicated. Look into sourdough starters if you're really interested in bread making.
Are we making hardtack in this thread?

Sourdough is easy and tastes much better than bread with storebought yeast. I'd recommend it.
