Are we talking about alcoholic or non-alcoholic fruit punch?

The idea on both is to make it refreshing, for that intent you should use some citric fruit as base, I like pineapple.

Then add some apple juice to give it a natural sweetness and maybe some orange or lemon juice.

For the alcoholic version you will want to use some fermented drink like cider, champgne or other similar drinks. It is nice to use a dry champgne or cider to balance with the refreshing fruit juices.

Leave some fruits inside and plenty of ice, you will want to cut the fruits into larger pieces so it is not hard to scoop only the liquid when taking it out.

And be sure to serve it with plenty of ice, there is nothing more disgusting then warm fruit punch.

Does anyone have a good recipe for Pirates Punch?

I remember a long ass time ago on Good Eats (I think) he had a recipe that sounded amazing.

It was basically just a bunch of alcohol poured into a jug, but it still sounded good. Something like: rum, molasses, ice, and tea.

Ok you want the best fruit punch recipe ever? Here goes. You need a athletic style cooler like the Gatorade coolers with the spigot at the bottom for the final product. For the mixing stage a couple of huge stock pots work. You need a couple of 2L bottles of sprite, a couple packets of lemon lime Kool aid, a handle bottle of vodka, a bottle of everclear (real homemade moonshine for extra points), a couple big cans of citrus fruit in juice, and optional a couple jars of cherries (juice strained away). Mix all this together and let sit together for at least 24 hours refrigerated. Dump with fruit into the cooler. Drink liquid from the spigot and eat the fruit for extra fun. This is called swamp frog.

here's the ACTUAL best punch ever. Fish House Punch!

1.5c super-fine sugar
2qt water
2qt jamaican amber rum
1qt cognac
1qt lemon juice, fresh, strained
4oz peach brandy
4 peaches, skinned and cut into 1/8th
12-18 thyme sprigs

FIRST fill the bottom of a bundt pan with the thyme sprigs, arranged like a wreath, then cover with the peach wedges. fill the pan with water, then freeze.

NEXT dissolve the sugar into the water in a large mixing bowl, then incorporate the lemon juice. once incorporated, add the rum, cognac and brandy. once fully incorporated, transfer the punch into your desired serving dish and remove the ice wreath from the bundt pan and float it in the punch. let it stand for about an hour before serving, to chill.
