I do this all the time. Not purposely on the eggs but my breakfast is usually eggs, meat, beans, cheese shoved between 2 pieces of bread.

When the meat is sausages or ham, there's maple syrup.

When I was a kid i's put sugar on scrambled eggs, I thought I had discovered something neat and unique but eventually I learned that sugar just tastes good and there's nothing special about putting it on weird stuff. It just makes sweeter weird stuff.

My only food faux pas is starch on starch combos. Like chicken and dumplins/noodles on mashed potatoes. I think it's because I grew up eating it at church dinners.
