1-seperate the yolks from the whites (this is the "no shit" step)
2- use a whisk to beat the fuck out of the yolks until they are more runny. Essentially they should drop freely (or near enough) when you lift the wise out of the yolks
3-use a spoon to drizzle the yolk on whatever you're basting and smear it around for coverage
You'd be better off using a baster or a brush though
