What's your favorite food you cook or eat to relax?

Shepherds Pie is my go to when I want to spend a little bit of me time on a windy day, and it's always a crowd pleaser. I'm making it with ground veal and lamb.

I like fried pork chops with rice. sometimes i smother the rice in brown gravy, other times i smother it in salsa (I warm it in a pan). some good pinto beans and fried eggs on the side. maybe some greens.

i really like frying pork chops. they don't splatter grease like some foods, and they bubble in the oil in a really soothing way. definitely relaxes me and the food is great.

do you know of a good recipe
I made cottage pie and it was just bland as fuck
>>
>>8777709
I used Alton Brown's recipe as a guide, but the proportions were different. I used ground lamb and ground veal with a bit of ground sausage. I used an immersion blender for the potatoes and added cream, butter, and egg yolk.

I left out corn for the filling and seasoned with rosemary and marjoram instead of thyme. Added mushrooms. Worchesterschire is a must along with tomato paste.

I baked the pie for ~30 min before I covered it with cheddar and let that bake longer after.

For me, shrimp and cheesy grits. I ate grits a lot growing up and I can never resist the allure of seafood. Or, a pound of snow crab legs. Something about having to take your time to fet the full amount of meat out of it is relaxing, especially when I sip a bottle of beer with it.
