How the microwave aways makes the inside of the potato mushy but the skin is hard like it hasn't been cooked?
Do you understand how microwaves work?
Microwaves aren't compatible with regular potatoes, you need to get special Monsanto brand potatoes
magic
1. Don't peel
2. Wet the skin
3. Place on kitchen paper
4. Rotate halfway
If you want crispy skin put it in the oven after for 10-15 minutes

Oh and pierce the skin or it might explode
Because the hot water evaporates from the surface, therefore it dries out
>mushy
Depends how long you cook it. It's just cooked, not mushy.

I've never had a potato explode in the microwave. I suspect it is a meme

Microwaves vibrate the water molecules throughout the potate, but the water vapor on the inside has nowhere to go. The water on the outside just evaporates away, hence dry potates.
But dont microwave potatoes in tbe frost place, microwaved poatatoes blow. Steam or bake only pls.

Steam builds up, has nowhere to go. It'll either find it's own way out, or it'll build pressure until it makes it's own way out.
T. I once had a potato basically peel it's own skin off via explosive pressure.
Because there's water inside the potato but not much in the skin. You can soak them a little before hand if you want or you can shove it in the oven afterwards. The oven gives you better result.
