Is this red thread-like thing in my salmon a worm? I found a couple of these little red thread-like things and a larger white one. If they are worms they're not moving, but I didn't bother to check the internal temp of the salmon before I found these and AFAIK it hasn't been frozen since I just bought it at a supermarket. The salmon might be undercooked since it's still *slightly* jelly-like in the middle.
Am I going to get worms?

med rare salmon... gag
well anon... it's not WORMS, but....
>>8738290
Those look like veins
>>8738290
It's just a vein right? Pretty rare salmon so makes sense.
Here's a picture of them after being removed
Why does nature have to be so disgusting
>>8738293
Yeah the other fillet was cooked better than that. I've eaten undercooked salmon before, I'm pretty impatient so sometimes I don't bother to make sure it's fully cooked. Lesson learned I guess.

But what?

>>8738296
Oh, do they lose their colour when you cook them properly?
Worms aren't unheard of in salmon. As far as I understand these worms are not parasitic to humans. I also believe the parasites that can reside in salmon and infect humans are not visible to the naked eye. In addition, supermarket salmon has generally been frozen to kill off parasites, even if it's advertised as "fresh". Whatever other animals are present will also have died in this process.

those just look like veins brah

flash freezing just kills parasites, doesn't remove them

Go ahead and go to the doctor anon. There are deworming pills you might as well take. I'd also guzzle a large amount of alcohol tonight.

It all sounds nice and relieving news, but none of that is actually true.

>can't remember exactly what he's there for and says it's salmonella
>gets belligerent because hospital staff refuses to believe him
>hospital calls police and OP spends night in drunk tank

Go back to your vegan thread over there with your grey smoothy bowl.

Damn, that filet is perfectly cooked. Just melts in your mouth. I love living in the PNW and getting free Coho from my fishermen pals.
