i moved in to an apartment that comes with an electric stove top, is it any good and would my electricity bill be spiked up?
no its not induction, just a heated coil under a ceramic plate.

That place is evil, child.
>>8732144
ahh tell me about it, if it's induction im fine with it but the whole thing is built into a slab of concrete
i have a portable induction cooker so im good, but i cant make 2 dishes at once which is retarded

You poor guy.
Sorry about your luck.
It will not cook food right, it will turn itself off whenever it pleases, it will add metric fucktons to your electricity bill and it will generally be a bad time.
No heat or cooking when the electricity goes off either. Fuck man you got skunked.

It's not as horrible as everyone makes it sound, but it still sucks in comparison to gas. Just learn to heat up your pan well before using it and the rest should be fine. Also try to rather dividing your food into portions and cook them separately when you need high heat. Otherwise you'll end up steaming your steak

Radiated heat is perfectly fine. Don't listen to the gasburgers. It all comes down to wattage in the end. It could be great, it could be awful - it all depends on the power. Not the exact method of delivery.

If a middling plate is 2000 W at full power and you use it at full power for an hour straight, that's 2 kWh. Or about 25 cents.
In real life it's not going to be on full power, and definitely not for an hour straight. Divide that quarter by a plausible fudge number and you get an idea.

Don't forget it's america and we have """"inflation"""" so make that tree fiddy.
you're better off building a fire on top of your electric stove when you want to cook something.
>>8732337
thats fucking ridiculous mate

Eating at a restaurant is much more expensive than any potential electricity bill

>i moved in to an apartment that comes with an electric stove
Welcome to the master race OP
>electric stove
>BUT
>utilities are a fixed bill every month
>>8732237
>my main concern is the electricity bill
Wow, 4 dollars more this month, I should just eat at restaurants instead. Fucking retard.
>>8732373
>utilities are a fixed bill every month
No
>>8732391
Depends on where you live. My apartment is in a kinda shitty area (which I only found out about after moving here) and all utilities are included in the rent.

>moving into an apartment without knowing anything about it
