So, /ck/ how do you feel about delivery box meal services things like Hello Fresh or Plated? It's really given me confidence to cook because they are easy recipes and they send you everything you need for the recipe. For me, I'm not the best shopper or the best with food inspiration so it really helps me out. I get 6/7 nights of the week a dinner delivered to the door.
I want to stop once I feel totally confident but these are great for introducing people to cooking imo. What do you guys think
>>
For me cooking also is experimenting with food and modifying recpies. You cant do theese thing, if you only have a certain selection of food.
>>
Boy, I sure do love paying 5x the cost of my food for no reason

I know that hello fresh isnt the best in terms of produce quality or freshness (I know that here in norcal they ship their shit from la, why tf?)
OP if you're enjoying making the recipes and feel like you're getting better, just keep at it until you want to start shopping for yourself and experimenting with tweaking recipes creatively
See if there are similar smaller scale services local to you, like CSA boxes at farms that give you a shitload of different veg that you can find recipes for

This.
>>
grocery shopping is fun. why would I have someone else do it for me?
>>
>>8725526
To be fair, if you're too retarded to figure out a grocery store you probably deserve to be ripped off
>>

They are just the best! I look forward to every monday when I jump off of my Casper™ mattress (so comfy oh wow), shave with Harry's Razors™ (what a close shave!) and play with my dog with toys provided by BarkBox™ (such fun very woof haha) while listening to my free audiobook download when you sign up for a month's trial with the promo code SUCKCOCKSget and then i get my shipment of Hello Fresh™ straight to my doorstep, which takes all the meal planning out of my life and I get to pay restaurant-tier prices for meals that I have to fuckin cook for myself.

I know this board is famous for advertising but lol I was just seeing the opinion which seems to be
"But it yourself you shill"
Anyway, it's been about 3 weeks and I am getting over it. Some of the shit they send is straight fire though. Ive never had chard before Dude whaaaaat

This cellphone is the epitome of fuckassery and I cannot type on it I apologize
>>
My brother works at HelloFresh. I looked up the prices out of curiosity one day, I can't believe anyone would buy that stuff. You're paying the same amount you would at a restaurant, but you have to cook it yourself and the food ends up a lower quality because it's not being cooked by a professional chef.
>>

>Ive never had chard

Every store sells that. They even put it out in plain view!
>>
I once got a Hello Fresh box for free because it got dropped in front of my house even though it was meant for the neighbors. I didn't notice until it was too late and just assumed it was a gift from a relative so I opened it and cooked everything inside. I have to say it was pretty good but 100% fuck paying for it. It was decent stuff and the recipes were easy enough to make some nice dishes, but I got it for free and would never, ever pay for one when I can get the same shit for half (or less) the price.

If you're ok with paying twice as much for food just so you don't have to think about shopping then I'd say go for it. But paying double for food is pretty fucking silly.

>If you're ok with paying twice as much for food just so you don't have to think
JESUS FUCK

I actually just had a look at the site and a 2 person box is 70 FUCKING DOLLARS

I spend $50 a week on groceries. I ate for 2 days with the box I got for free.

So fuck this shit with a rake. You're absolutely retarded if You pay for this stupid, stupid shit. Look up some recipes. Buy what you need yourself. Type "spaghetti bolognese recipe" or "beef stew recipe" into fucking google. Don't pay for this stupid shit.
