So I was fluent in spanish when I was younger because of my au pairs but I'm starting to lose it. I want to just absorb the spanish language through media, and I think spanish cooking or food travel shows would be relatively painless since there's no jokes or clever word play to butcher in translation. Anyone know a show they'd suggest, or are just generally aware of?

Mira papa aprender español es un dolor de huevo, y te lo dice alguien que lo habla, verbos de mierda.
Lee novelas juveniles en español, idioma sencillo con historias sencillas cosa que atraiga jóvenes, y en tu caso extranjeros que quieran aprender la lengua

I'm not avoiding humor because it's hard, I'm avoiding English comedies translated to spanish because the humor may not be preserved through the translation and won't be enjoyable to watch. If there's a great spanish comedy you'd suggest I'd give it a shot

Anything by Pedro Almodovar.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is a GREAT FOODIE film, as are a lot of his films. There's good scenes that pretty much feature delicious Spanish cuisine and taste.

Just watch some spanish tv shows from time to time, listen to some spanish music and make a few RL spanish friends you can talk to. It's not hard.
