Is Malt Vinegar the least useful vinegar? It seems like its entire purpose is to be put on fried fish, and it doesn't even add flavor to anything else.
It's certainly no where near as useful as its other vinegar cousins with their hundreds of different applications. Maybe I'm missing something.
Is there any reason to have malt vinegar in the kitchen if you aren't frying fish regularly? Does it go in anything else?

Chine is traditionally served with malt vinegar.

Why? What makes you say that? I've used malt vinegar to make pickles, in BBQ sauce, gastrique, to cut the fattiness of rich soups/stews, to cook greens (collards, kale)...

I use it as a base for marinades all the time. Especially for chicken.
1 cup malt vinegar
.5 cup brown sugar
2 Tbs salt
2 Tbs smoked paprika
1 Tbs black pepper
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp minced garlic
1 small minced onion
Marinade over night, minimum 12hrs. Throw on the grill, shits dope.
Whywouldnt you put it on chicken and beef? whta is stopping you

Idk about beef, but I will personally vouch for roast chicken. After I serve my plate I douse it in malt vinegar, it's making my mouth water just thinking of it.
It's also really good with veg like spinach, kale or collard greens.
Use it instead of salad dressing.

Being able to use it correctly in a slow cooker separates the lazy single mothers from the lazy /ck/ regulars.

What does that taste like

I pretty much only use it on fried fish and fries, but oh is it worth it.
